Sunday, 5th February, 2017 is Catechist Sunday. During the 9.00am Mass at St Francis Xavier’s Church, Arncliffe, the State School Catechists from our
twinned-parishes will be commissioned for this year.

Being a catechist is a most rewarding ministry. As baptised Christians, each one of us is called to proclaim the Good News in our daily lives: in thought, word and action. This is especially true in the anti-religious climate of our times.

This year we recognise the commitment of the following catechists and we congratulate them as they receive certificates to mark their long service:

Arncliffe Dawn Petersen 15 Years
Rockdale Daisy Calalang 5 Years
Bexley Venka Pera 5 Years

We thank all those involved in the Catechetical Ministry in our parishes, through being a catechist, an assistant catechist or a prayer partner. These wonderful people represent us all as they share the love of Jesus and the importance of faith with the young ones in State Schools.
